Random Thought #113.

If you go around cussing, lying, stealing, smoking, doing drugs, etc. and trying to spread the gospel, you’re bringing a bad reputation for not only Christians, but Christ HIMSELF. What do you think people would think? “Oh… yeah, I’m not interested in Christianity because they (do that stuff).” Please, don’t preach by spewing out empty hypocrisy but by example… You know, like that cliched phrase “practice what you preach”?

3“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Matthew 7:3-5

This isn’t only directed outward from me, but also to myself. I, in NO WAY, claim that I am completely free of hypocrisy. It’s something we all need to work on
