What would have happen If Adam hadn’t partaken of the forbidden fruit? What if he hadn’t done it?

Who knows? Some people say we would be living in Paradise from birth. Others say sin would’ve entered the world one way or another. I think it’s better like this though. We get to experience the extent of His power, love, grace, and mercy (the list just keeps going!). But then again, theres nothing saying that we would experience the fullness of God some other way if we hadn’t fallen to sin.

If I’m looking at the forces of God versus Satan, and one is actively interested in pursuing me while the other sits there and waits for me to come snivelling to him, then . Hail Satan.

“Here’s the thing about Satan. God created Satan. God should probably destroy Satan, don’t you think? If God knows everything, including the future, God should have foreseen Satan’s betrayal. Christians believe the answer to any kind of question of this nature is “God gave people free will,” which is the reason people do bad things. But why can God not destroy Satan? Is it seriously as punishment for Adam and Eve? Really? God would allow a rival trying to bring him down and turn people away from him because Satan had tricked Eve? Really that just makes Satan seem like he won. He was smart enough to trick Eve and now he is smart enough to pull people away from God while God does not actively intervene. God does not like to get his hands dirty. If I’m looking at the forces of God versus Satan, and one is actively interested in pursuing me while the other sits there and waits for me to come snivelling to him, then . Hail Satan.”
^That was the whole thing. Anyway:

Satan? God’s rival? Not even. God is is willing to give us ALL THE HELP we are willing to accept. As long as we believe He will do the best for us, as long as we have FAITH in Him, He’ll see us through everything. He’s very much actively seeking our love. It’s all around us. However, because we were tainted (through the Fall), we remain in sin (sin = separation from God). Then, suddenly, God says it’s enough, and sends His only Son out of His love for us to die on the cross. And then to be resurrected. Now, because Christ is risen, we have the power to overcome sin and Satan with the Holy Spirit, but only if we have faith in God. Don’t make it sound like it’s God’s weakness when it’s actually our own weakness. As you said, God doesn’t want robots. He’s doing everything to try to reach our deaf ears to have us return to Him by our own free will. We’re just blinded by our sinful nature. That’s not Satan’s power overcoming God’s power, it’s Satan’s deception overwhelming us humans.

1. Do you believe in a a real personal literal devil? 2. Have you seen the devil? 3. How can you believe in something you have not seen?

1. Yes I believe in the literal devil as a being, 2. I have seen his works; just take a look around you. All the famine, crime, heartbreak, etc, and finally, 3. It’s like the wind. You know it exists, but you can’t see it. All you can see is that things all around are being pushed by the breeze. I know God exists. I don’t see Him, but I see His hands moving everywhere.

God shows no mercy in my life and never has. And never will. I’ve tried praying but consistently ignored me.

Then the mercy YOU may be looking for is probably not the mercy God is providing. Sometimes, things happen to us for the best, but our field of vision is too narrow to see what God’s seeing for us. No matter how bad we may have it, our job is to stay faithful to God. Just trust that He knows what He’s doing in your life.

Let me ask you something. What proof is there that the Bible has anything to do with reality?

Possibly the fact that all the demographic records and historical events coincide with outside resources. Or that the Bible tells us of scientific facts that weren’t discovered until the 20th century.

Q: the bible states that divorce is a sin (and an adulterer) but the church accepts divorcees as naturally as we accept the sun rising from the east. what do u think (and esp in terms of the church’s treatment of fellow gay christians)?

Random Thought #106.

A: There are a few angles we can take to tackle this question and preceding statements. But then again, it looks like this can be dragged on and on to become an extremely long answer nobody wants to read, so I’ll get to the point of your question.

1. God knows our sinful nature. Even though He hates divorce (Malachi 2:16), He knows that we’re going to be going through divorces because of our imperfect humanity. Jesus explains in Matthew 19:8-9 that God allowed divorce in the Old Testament laws because of people’s hard hearts, not because it was what He desired. Point 1: God hates divorce, divorce is inevitable with our sinful nature.

2. Now the touchy subject that will cause me to lose a few readers: the gay. First off, when we become Christian, we shed our sin. Agreed? Moving on, this doesn’t mean that we begin to live perfect, sinless lives. It means that we confess our sins to God. In this context of confess, the more accurate translation from the original Bibles of Hebrew/Greek is to “agree with” God that we have sinned. There are three steps to confessing: 1) Agree with God that we have sinned, 2) Agree that God has forgiven us and cleansed us from the sin, and lastly 3) Turn our actions and attitude away from sinning. With that said, if you turn to Romans 1:26, the Bible states men women abandoned their natural relations for unnatural ones. In verse 27, it says that “men also abandoned their natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another.” The Bible equates these unnatural lusts as shameful in verse 26, and perverse in verse 27. Point 2: Biblically speaking, marriage between two men or two women doesn’t fit into God’s of a marriage. If there is no marriage, there can’t be a divorce.

Phew, that was long. Hope this answers your question?

**Disclaimer: Part 2 of this answer does NOT mean for you to go out and be disrespectful to gays. The Bible does say gayness is a sin, but it DOESN’T say to shun or judge them. Read Matthew 9:11-12 please. Don’t judge sin. That’s what God does. What we’re called to do is to show God’s love and to encourage one another to live our lives out of sin.**

but what if it .. feels natural … ? O_O”

feeling natural and what was originally natural before the “fall” are two totally different things. same sex marriage may feel natural, but that’s because the world is falling farther into depravity.

But god created gay people?

nope, god didn’t create gay people. god created people, and allowed free will. out of our own sinful nature, people pursued (and continue to pursue) what the bible calls “unnatural” relationships.
